Project Staff / Project Manager for Construction Economics (m/f/d)

As a project staff member in the field of construction economics, you will independently oversee your projects from the initial development of construction-related tasks during the competition and acquisition phases to cost monitoring and final cost determination during the completion phase. Your responsibilities will cover all services outlined in the relevant performance models of the Austrian Federal Chamber of Civil Engineers and the Technical University of Graz (LM.VM 2023) for general planning management and architectural design. Depending on your previous professional experience, employment as a project manager in construction economics is possible.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Primary point of contact for all construction-related topics within the project
  • Organization and coordination of construction-economic processes in the project
  • Contribution to and development of competition submissions regarding construction-economic issues such as cost, scheduling (planning and construction timelines), site management, project interfaces, and organizational charts
  • Creation and continuous updating of project schedules from competition to completion
  • Creation and continuous updating of project cost estimates from competition to tendering phase cost statements
  • Monitoring and continuous updating of project cost tracking during construction phases
  • Creation and updating of project lifecycle costs in accordance with ÖNorm B 1801-1 to 4
  • Development, maintenance, and management of the office’s internal construction cost database and benchmark lists
  • Creation of detailed specifications in line with the Austrian Construction Standards for structural engineering and preparation of functional tenders
  • Drafting of general and technical contract documents with expertise in Austrian Public Procurement Law (BVergG)
  • Execution and support of tender procedures (construction tenders) for both public and private sectors
  • Evaluation of tenders according to BVergG and preparation of award proposals
  • Support of construction site execution regarding claims management and variation order management
  • Contribution to the development of internal BIM standards in relation to construction-economic project parameters

Required qualifications:

  • Successfully completed secondary school diploma (Reifeprüfung) from a relevant technical college and at least five years of professional experience in the fields described above (a university degree is not mandatory!)
  • Experience with planning, construction, and operational processes
  • Familiarity with relevant standards, laws, and regulations, such as:
    ÖNorm B 2110, ÖNorm B 22XX (contract standards), ÖNorm B1801-1 to 4, ÖNorm B 1800, ÖNorm A 2050, Austrian Public Procurement Law (BVergG), Austrian Building Specification Handbook (Leistungsbuch Hochbau, BMWET), etc.
  • Proficiency with tendering software and various other construction management tools
  • The following software is currently in use in our office:
    • AuerSuccess X
    • COOR
    • MS Project
    • MS Excel
    • MS Office

Salary:

In accordance with the 2025 collective agreement for employees of architects and engineering consultants, this position offers a minimum gross monthly salary of EUR 3,477.00 (BG 4 in the 5th year) for full-time employment, depending on years of service. Classification and significant overpayment possible depending on qualifications.
