Competition Residential building and shared residential garage in Neu-Leopoldau

Due to the peripheral location of the site in the area of  the former gas works in Leopoldau, a residential development in the direction of a quarter center, located in front of a garage, was prescribed by urban zoning. The high-quality internal space between the open arcades and the elevated garage provides good lighting and ventilation.

Following the philosophy of Neu-Leopoldau “green living – close to nature and car-free”, great importance was attached to the design of the green space:

• Private greenery on balconies, terraces, tenant gardens – assigned to each flat (multiple use, as it also serves as a screen to the neighbouring balconies).
• Site-related, semi-public greenery in the inner space (canyon) as active space for bouldering in the lower area
• Green space on the roof across building sites, usable by all holders of the Neu-Leopoldau mobility card
