Architecture Selection Process „Urban living in Wieden“

This rebuild and refurbishment project is located near the centre of Vienna. The city zoning restrictions required a continuous facade to the street side, while the rear part of the site is to be retained and landscaped as a garden. 4 storeys of an existing building at the back of the site are retained and refurbished to modern standards.

The Entrance area forms the first impression of a building and is therefore designed with great care, providing a generous entrance hall with views through to the green inner courtyard. The lower 5 storeys of the street-facing new build residential building feature 5 1- and 2-bedroom apartments, the upper 3 floors are laid out with more spacious apartments, 4 to each floor.

The existing building at the rear of the building plot has been refurbished as 7 separate offices/workshops for start-up tech companies, including accessible roof terraces at the 3rd floor level.
