AHS School Vienna West

A new relocated main entrance harmoniously integrates the historically protected barracks building into the overall school design. Following the symmetry of the existing building, the extension is designed around a central, spacious courtyard which forms the heart of the school community. This is where all the social areas are located, such as open learning zones or dining halls, which promote interaction between students from different classes and offer high quality amenities. The classrooms themselves are arranged towards the quieter outside of the building. On the ground floor, a corridor connects the new building to the riding hall used for gymnastics, creating an integrated school complex.
