Raising the Roof: The Wooden Kindergarten at Gießhübl

Sustainable Kindergarten Construction in Gießhübl: Roof Completion Ceremony for the Project at the Green Kuhheide

On March 12, 2025, the roof completion ceremony took place for the new kindergarten in the municipality of Gießhübl, Lower Austria. Together with Mayor Dr. Johannes Seiringer, several representatives of the municipality, the construction company Granit Gesellschaft m.b.H., and our architects, we celebrated the roof completion of this sustainable new building.

The modern wooden structure is set to be completed in the summer of 2025 and will open in time for the start of the new kindergarten year in the fall. The kindergarten will accommodate eight group rooms and a bright atrium, equipped with ceiling glazing and seating steps. A mobile partition wall will allow flexible expansion of the atrium for events.

The design also includes two spacious movement rooms and two multifunctional rooms for various play and leisure educational activities. The outdoor areas of the kindergarten offer generous play and movement spaces and are directly adjacent to the forest edge, providing children with ample room to explore and play in nature.

This new building will provide a sustainable and modern space that meets the needs of the youngest citizens of the region, creating an inspiring environment for early childhood development.
