Competition Schloss Hof
As part of a competition, an “imperial and concave” concept was developed for the construction of a new lake with a surrounding hotel and chalets.
Urban Design: K&K Concept
North of Schloss Hof, a hotel ensemble consisting of a two-storey main building and fourteen small-scale villas was conceived. The development follows the natural topography and integrates sensitively into the landscape: single-storey suites frame the lake in concave rows, while the main building opens in a convex counter-curve toward the palace. The architectural language references Baroque garden and ornamental elements.
Dialogue with Historic Architecture
Calm building volumes, low building heights, green roofs, and ecological materials allow the complex to merge with the surrounding nature. New tree plantings interweave the site with the adjacent forest. The architecture deliberately enters into a dialogue with the historic buildings of the palace and the estate, without competing with them.
Sustainability and Landscape Integration
The buildings are conceived as low structures with green flat roofs, creating a contemporary architectural accent. Photovoltaic modules on the main building are integrated discreetly, while timber construction and sustainable materials underline the ecological orientation of the concept.
Hotel Concept
The hotel is envisioned as a cultivated retreat within the historic context of Schloss Hof. Under the guiding idea of “imperial relaxation,” the concept offers spaces for rest and recreation—in the suites, the wellness area, the carefully designed outdoor spaces, and by the water. Architecture, landscape, and design combine to create an atmosphere of deceleration, reinterpreting Baroque elegance through contemporary sustainability.
