Feasibility Study – Bircv F&E Building 520

1120

Vienna,

Belghofergasse 7,

Austria

One of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, Boehringer Ingelheim operates a large production, distribution and pharmaceutical campus in Vienna’s 12th District.

F+P Architekten have been appointed as general planner to lead the design and construction of a new research laboratory to develop the existing extensive facilities on the Boehringer Ingelheim Estate.

The new Building 520 will provide a café and lecture hall at ground floor for internal conferences.   Two basement floors contain laboratories and storage space. The upper seven floors offer a variety of different specialist technical research laboratories tailored to the requirements of different research teams, backed up with support spaces in the form of offices, meeting rooms and seminar spaces.  The second floor is connected by bridge links to two adjacent research buildings to better facilitate communication between the different research teams on campus. On the ground floor there is a barrier-free access link to a neighbouring building, which is also connected on the 3rd floor. The building is surmounted by a floor of building services equipment, to serve the extensive laboratory technical requirements.
