Competition – New Construction of LKR Ranshofen Facility

The new LKR Ranshofen operating facility (Light Metal Competence Center Ranshofen), comprising building complexes with laboratory and office areas as well as production spaces, is located within the Braunau–Neukirchen industrial park.

The continuous design of the laboratory, office, and production areas creates a strong and effective external appearance.

Varying building heights and a recessed entrance area give the building volume a sense of dynamism, further emphasized by horizontal banding of the façade.

The use of timber elements in the façade as well as glued laminated timber beams for the hall structure allows for the use of local renewable resources.

A centrally located, clearly visible staircase provides easy orientation throughout the building and short routes for all users.

The generous office areas are divided into various office types that can be used flexibly as required. In addition to standard workstations, these include meeting rooms and focus zones that enable highly concentrated work. Communal areas for personal exchange within the team are also provided. A spacious outdoor area integrated into each office floor significantly enhances the quality of staff breakout spaces and brings daylight deep into the interior of the office wing.

Expandability
To the south of the site lies the potential expansion area for the halls as well as the outdoor areas, directly adjoining the planned project.
